Scholarship is Now Open
Founded on January 16, 1920, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. began as an idea conceived by five women at Howard University in Washington DC.
These five women departed from the traditional organizations for black women and established a new organization based on the concepts of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love and Finer Womanhood.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is an international organization with over 125,000 members who continue to demonstrate an interest in serving the needs of the community.
For the past 105 years, our activities have been supported by the monetary gifts of individuals, scholastic institutions and corporations who share our vision of making the world a better place.
The Tau Sigma Zeta Chapter, based in Fresno, California, is constantly striving to continue building on the legacy of our founders. As such, we have created the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Tau Sigma Zeta Chapter Scholarship. This scholarship was created to assist high school aged, young women aspiring to attend institutions of higher learning, with the high cost of tuition, books, room and board. Each year, we review applicants and select winners based on academic achievement and community service.
